Yorkshire Dufton Charts.
Some explanatory notes.....

These basic "primary drop-charts" are a simplified version of the originals drafted some time ago by Kath Timiney of Doncaster using data collected by Bernard Dufton (1911-2002) of Epsom, over many years. The research started by them continues on a daily basis today by a small number of dedicated enthusiasts.

The existing "primary charts" cover the period 1600-1840 approx. and are numbered YOA,YOB,YI,Y2A-C,Y3A-F,Y4A-C,Y5A-F,Y6A-C,Y7A-E and Y8A-D. The latter four charts Y8A-D cover the "Leeds Clan" and have not yet been satisfactorily connected with all the rest, which cover the "Pudsey Clan".

All persons on these said charts have the surname Dufton unless stated otherwise e.g. spouses..Births(baptisms),Deaths and Marriages are shown by year only. Any further data required can be found on "Michael's website", an excellent source of information compiled by Michael Dufton of Melbourne.

Many "secondary charts" will follow in due course, showing families up to the present day.

Please feel free to comment should you find any mistakes or anomalies on the charts. Your help will be much appreciated.
Numerous further drop-charts exist covering Cumbria, Durham, St.Helena, Canada, USA.. etc. My ultimate goal is to link all the Duftons,Dufftons,Dovetons etc., on the planet, back to the ancient parish of Dufton in Westmorland, from where the surname originates.
Some church records and other sources of data are missing, making the task ever more difficult.

Wish me luck!
Regards to all, John G.Dufton.
